The Disters Now Have 8 Cats
Colton and Sheri walked outside a couple of weeks ago and found a very tiny kitten -- and then another -- and then another and well - this went on up to seven little cats - and then a Mom Cat. They were born inder the Dister hot tub and that's where they currently reside.

The picture taking itself is a story.

At first when they were very shy and rarely emerged, I setup a time-lapse recording (taking a photo every 10 seconds) and this is how we got the very first photos. The number of kittens exposed this way kept growing. Everyone, particularly Colton has been snapping the photos since. Mostly still through the window or at a distance, so the photos aren't terrific. If we had the video it would be really entertaining, as you get all 7 simultaneously buzzing around, wrestling, playing, climbing, bumping into things, falling down, getting back up, jumping on mom, etc.

Of the seven, four are black with white tipped paws and chests. Sheri names these "tux" as in "tux1" tux2" "tux3" (hard to distinguish) except for one which is smaller than the rest she calls "runt". The three mottled black/brown are named (temporarily) Tonto (one with the tuning fork mark on his face), Patches (triangle brown on his face), and Lewis (the only one of the kittens w/o white paws. Also one of the shy kittens. Named for Lewis & Clark by Colton kind of inverse as he is not yet a big explorer).

Sheri adds: The kittens were likely born around or before August 23th. We just call the big grey one, "momma cat." :)
